Languages: Italian/English (for other languages please contact us)

Duration: aprox 6-8 hours

Itinerary: Bucharest – Snagov Monastery – Comana Monastery – Bucharest

In the morning meet with our guide in Bucarest, Revolution Square or we can pick up at your location.

Leave the city on the route to Snagov. Visit the Snagov Monastery, where it supposed that it would be burried Vlad Dracula.

Still do not know exactly how Vlad Dracula was killed, but the most probably hypothesis is that he was killed near Bucharest, in a battle against the Ottomans in December 1476. According to the leggends Vlad would be buried in Snagov Monastery where monks bring his body in secret. But the body found in Snagov also had his head, element wich would clash with some leggends according to wich the head of Vlad was cut, but the mistery remains as it was found also a ring with the symbol of the Order od the Dragon wich was part precisely Vlad Dracula.

Continue your journey to Comana Monastery, not far from Bucharest (40 kilometres) where the history also indicates that it would be the perfect place for Dracula’s graveyard…

History tells us that the Turks came in Romania from the south, crossing the Danube, therefore it was thought that the body of Vlad Dracula were to be tried in the south of Bucharest and not in Snagov that is in the north.

In those days, is used to bury the widowers in churches or monasteries built directly to their will or in those who were nearest to the place of their death and the closest place to where presumably was killed Vlad Dracula is exactly the Comana Monastery. Archaeological research made in this monastery gave birth to a headless corpse, but still there is no certainly that the body belongs to the Count.
